　　Harry: Uh-uh. No, no. He jumped the gun. We had three minutes left.
　　Jack: Why does he do that? He's losing his three million.
　　Harry: I don't know. Maybe he couldn't hold his wad long enough. It's a common problem among middle -aged men. So I'm told.
　　Jack: He's here.
　　Harry: He could've blown that thing from Pacoima.
　　Jack: No. He knew we were up to something. He's close by.
　　Harry: He's not gonna corner himself in a building. We evacuated anyway. Come on. All right. He'd want to be here, but he'd want to stay mobile, right? The elevators.
　　Jack: The passenger cars were stopped. They checked them out.
　　Harry: What about the freight elevators?
　　Jack: Will the mystery guest please sign in?
　　Harry: What? Jack. Damn it! Get to the floor! Shit! Shit! Shit!
　　Howard Payne: Up! Get your ass up! I don't suppose anybody'll give me three million just for you. Hold it! Pop quiz, hot shot. Terrorist holding a police hostage. Got enough dynamite strapped to his chest to blow a building in half. Now, what do you do?
　　Jack: There's gonna be 50 cops waiting for you in the basement.
　　Howard Payne: Oh, standard flanking deployment, right? Well, maybe we'll get off on the third floor, huh?　活学活用
　　　1. Is your watch slow?
　　“你的表慢了吗？”想不到吧，这句话就是这么简单。可见英语和汉语真的是有很多地方是相通的。
　　2. jump the gun
　　本来是指赛跑的时候，运动员没等到发令枪响就抢跑，后被引申指为“行动过早，匆忙行事”，例如：The local weather bureau jumped the gun on predicting a storm， it didn't happen for another two days. 当地的气象局预报早了，过了两天才有暴风雨来袭。
　　3. passenger car
　　这里是指passenger elevator（客用电梯），那货梯呢？就是 freight elevator，英国英语叫做 goods lift.
　　4. sign in
　　本意是“登记到达”，这里的意思“现身”。
　　　5. Get your ass up
　　意思是“站起来”。表示强烈情绪的时候，如果要让某人挪动一下，常会说“Get your ass back in the room”等等。
　　6. hot shot
　　指“incandescent shot fired to set enemy ships or buildings on fire会起火、灼热的射击”，这里Howard Payne 是指自己要把楼给炸了，对应的是之前Jack 和Harry对话中的clear shot..
　　7. flanking deployment
　　指“侧翼攻击”。

　　这里是Harry为了说明罪犯不在大楼内而举的一个例子。
　　Pacoima is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles, California.
　　It is bordered by the Los Angeles districts of Mission Hills on the west, Arleta on the south, Sun Valley on the southeast, Lake View Terrace on the northeast, and by the city of San Fernando on the north. Major thoroughfares include San Fernando Road and Laurel Canyon and Van Nuys Boulevards. The Golden State and Ronald Reagan freeways run through the district.
　　Pacoima's first inhabitants were the semi-nomadic Tongva and Tataviam Native American tribes; the name Pacoima in fact comes from the Tataviam language and translates to "the entrance". In 1797, Spanish colonists built the nearby Mission San Fernando Rey, but the Pacoima area remained without permanent settlement until 1887. In that year, former Republican California State Assemblyman and California State Senator Charles MacLay purchased 56,000 acres （227 km2） in the area with a loan of $117,500 from a friend, U.S. Senator Leland Stanford （president of the Southern Pacific Railroad, former Governor of California, and founder of Stanford University）. MacLay proceeded to subdivide the tract into agricultural parcels, most of which were used for the production of Southern California staples such as citrus, nuts, beans, wheat, and vegetables. As was the case in most of the San Fernando Valley, the lure of plentiful, cheap water from the Los Angeles Aqueduct proved irresistible to Pacoima's farmers, and the district was annexed by Los Angeles in 1921. （wikipedia）
